OBJECTIVE:
To become the Scout Executive in the Pennsylvania Dutch Council. In this position I would utilize my expertise and vision for the further benefit of the Scouting movement in the counties of Lancaster and Lebanon in Pennsylvania.
BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
Proven record in recruiting and cultivating relationships with business leaders and educators, building a results oriented team, fundraising, membership outreach, and volunteer management with a strong commitment to achieving results. The ability to think strategically and execute my own personal vision and that of the Boy Scouts of America.
SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS:
Finance
Grew direct support 40% by improving and implementing new special events and increasing Friends of Scouting revenue, from 2019 to 2023 (2019 - $318,658 to 2023 - $447,717)
Grew unrestricted net assets 86%, from $159,278 at the end of 2020 to $295,829 in 2023
Led Council popcorn sales to a 12% increase, from $304,380 to $339,815 (12% in 2 years)
Cultivated over $500,000 in cash gifts and project sales for capital projects in 2022 and 2023
Membership
Grew membership in 2021(1 of approximately 20 councils to do so) and in 2022
Council has a robust Scoutreach program that partners with 10 local nonprofit organizations to provide Scouting to over 400 youth in need
Prairielands Council is consistently ranked in top 10 Councils in membership for gender and ethnic diversity
Program
Successful in creating and executing fiscally sustainable events that increased retention
Through project sale and outright contributions made improvements costing more than $500,000 to our aging Scout Camp that led to increased awareness and excitement about the camp
Leadership
Successful leadership of the Prairielands Council including a yearly surplus budget, increased openness of Council decisions, and consistent communication for all 5 years as CEO
Responsible for 2 District Executives and 3 support staff members while creating a culture among these staff that breed excellence and teamwork
Led the charge to recruit 10 high level new board members to invigorate a Council that just came off a conditional charter

EXPERIENCE:
Scout Executive/CEO, Champaign, Illinois – January 2019 to Present
Serve 9 Counties in East Central Illinois and Western Indiana. Set the mission and vision of the Council and helped to create the culture to grow Scouting and create an awareness in the communities it serves. Lead everything from growing support and revenue, membership development, strategic partnerships, to day-to-day operations. Manage 2 District Executives and 3 support staff members.
Assistant Director of Field Service, Cape Girardeau Missouri – August 2016 to Present
Serve 24 Counties between Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois. In charge of the initial hiring process and the monthly business meeting for the Greater St. Louis Area Council. Manage 2 satellite offices and the budgets associated with those offices. Managed 5 District Executives and 4 support staff members.
Field Director, Cape Girardeau, Missouri – January 2014 to August 2016
Lead the team with the largest amount of land in the Council. Serve 18 Counties in Southeast Missouri and 10 Counties in Southern Illinois. Serve almost 5000 youth with a 4% growth in 2015. Raised $240,000 in Friends of Scouting. Managed 2 satellite offices with 6 District Executives and 4 support staff members.
District Executive/District Director, St. Louis, Missouri – February 2007 to December 2013
Lead largest 2 districts in the council – Districts totaled over 325 units, 14,000 youth, 4,000+ volunteers. Exceeded FOS goal of $378,000 by raising $390,411. Boy Scout camp attendance exceeded 90%. Journey to Excellence Gold District – 2011 through 2013. Managed one district executive.
